I set up a Twitter account because people said this, too, was important, but I don’t know how to tweet. I don’t know what a hash mark is. The only thing I was able to do was upload a picture of a snowflake to my twitter account because I am pretty good at photography, and the account’s linked to my Facebook fan page, so I *think* tweets are going out somewhere from there. They’re probably going from here to Twitter too.
My biggest worry about Twitter is the possibility of annoying people. You read that Paris Hilton tweeted her opinion of a cheeseburger and think, something is wrong with this world.
I picture my tweets reading something like this:
Got up, went to desk, started writing.
Ate an Odwalla Superprotein bar.
Back to writing.
Went outside to get some Vitamin D.
Just checked and there are 500 emails in my Facebook, MobileMe, Google, Yahoo, Bloomberg & Linkedin accounts.
Still emailing.
Still emailing.
Oh my God its 8 p.m. and I am still on item 3 on my 1,000 item to do list.
Canceled all my email accounts.
I love Twitter. It’s the most awesome thing ever.
Anyway, if you are getting annoying tweets from me, please say so. I don’t know they’re being sent but will try to stop it. By the time you read this I may have learned to use Twitter, but don’t count on it.... yet.

Quick Study
Hi Alice,
Seeing how you've become very good with Facebook, I am sure you will be just as good with Twitter in no time.
P.S. Since you asked. You are using bit.ly to compress link, which is good. Here are three things may help you use twitter more effectively.
1) # is the hash mark. And it is the convention people on Twitter decided to use to "tag" things. For example, I tag Tweets relating to Canada with #Canada and Calgary with #yyc (don't ask why I use Calgary's airport code, by convention, I guess).
2) If I want to reply to a Tweet you posted, I will start my Tweet with @ and then your id, eg.
@AliceSchroeder
likewise, if someone want to reply to a particular tweet from me, they start their tweet with
@kempton Something Something something more
3) Finally, if you see something neat/cool that someone else has tweeted, you can "ReTweet" it. So if I want to ReTweet one of NASA's tweet I will post using this format
RT @NASA Whatever NASA is saying
Good luck. You now know all I know about Twitter. :)

Thank you! appreciate the help Kempton. AS
