sales/business from the meetings?
Has Warren ever talked about how much businesses/sales were generated every year from the meeting? A few years ago I was silly enough to write Warren to ask him if the annual meetings can be webcasted. Silly me.
sales from meetings
Hi Kempton, I think some information has occasionally been given out. For writing the book I received the sales information, and included some key statistics in The Snowball. The most important is NFM, which does its biggest volume of the year over that weekend, millions of dollars of sales. Borsheim's also sells a disproportionate amount of its annual revenue that weekend although obviously sales are down right now. Dilly bars do not compare to these two businesses. (One thing I never got a handle on, by the way, is fractional jet sales. My impression is that the meeting is good marketing but it's not that easy to trace the sale of a fractional jet share directly to the meeting ... people who would buy them are unlikely to first encounter the idea at Berkshire weekend and even less likely to sign a contract on the spot.)
