Coke Cracked

The radio show This American Life believes it has truly, authentically, legitimately cracked the secret Formula X recipe for Coca-Cola (see story here). If the ingredient list is to be believed (nutmeg oil, neroli) you're better off not trying this at home. It's a lot cheaper to acquire the elixir a six pack at a time.

Such is the power of the Coca-Cola brand, however, that even if this story is true, it's likely that ten years from now many people, if asked, will claim Coke's secret recipe is locked in the vaults of Sun Trust Bank in Atlanta and its ingredients are known to only two people at Coke headquarters, both of whom carry a cyanide capsule at all times in case they are abducted by robbers intent on stealing the formula.
