Business Jet Demand -- More News

Accding to avionics and instrument-maker Honeywell: "The business-jet industry’s recovery may take a year longer than forecast, picking up in late 2011 and accelerating in 2012, as companies defer purchases amid doubts about the economy, Honeywell International Inc. said.

Global plane deliveries probably will fall to a range of 675 to 700 in 2010 and stay at fewer than 700 next year, down from 849 in 2009, according to Honeywell, an avionics and cockpit-instruments maker that surveyed about 1,200 corporate flight departments worldwide."

This deal certainly didn’t

This deal certainly didn’t help the USA private jet industry or Wichita, where in addition to Savannah much the industry is based. Even the French company Falcon Jet employs many American workers. Cessna or Hawker’s skilled work force could sure use the business at this point after all they’ve been through. NetJets surely did not make many friends with the Cessna or Hawker workforce who are still required to support the vast majority of their airplanes. Not many well deserving US jobs will be created by buying from Brazil that’s for sure.

One should ask how many NetJets customers are from Brazil?

Saw the news of NetJets big

Saw the news of NetJets big order with Embraer today, was wondering if Mr. Buffet and Mr. Sokol thought about buying American made aircraft instead to help the economy in the U.S. and keep U.S manufacturers with employees with NON wal mart wages in business... your thoughts on this would be welcome. Is this just a case of making money off a deal offered so cheap they could not refuse it?
