Afternoon with Charlie

News for Munger fans: Charlie Munger will do an "Afternoon With Charlie" in Pasadena this year after the Berkshire buy-out. I am asked several times every year by different people whether the trip to Wesco is worth it. My answer has always been "Yes, and go now because it won't last forever." This is an opportunity to say it again: to anyone who has ever contemplated it but put it off, didn't have time, etc. etc. -- DO NOT MISS THIS CHANCE. GO TO PASADENA.

"Afternoon w/ Charlie" -- Updates?
Has anyone seen mention of this event since the merger press release?
At wescofinancial.com they have officially cancelled the annual meeting, but I have seen no follow up from Charlie regarding the "Afternoon" of Q&A.
Thanks if anyone has more details...
REPLY: I'm inferring that there isn't going to be any Q&A with Charlie, but nothing has been announced to specifically confirm either way. It really would be a shame if this event doesn't take place because of David Sokol.... Please chime in, anyone who has more information.
Thank you Charlie!
I love the meeting in Pasadena. I have gone to Omaha twice and Pasadena four times. I think that the Pasadena meeting is just as great as the meeting in Omaha, maybe funnier. Thank you Charlie!
Predictable and arrogant
Charlie doesn't merely repeat himself, he is arrogant as well. Nothing new to be learnt going to Pasadena, imho.
He will label all those attending "cult members" :-) He will pour scorn and contempt on all those not intelligent enough to read and understand "Deep Simplicity" :-) He will praise dictatorial China and ridicule democratic India. He will say that climate change is BS and anyways will be beneficial to the US. So what if Bangladesh, Maldives and others go under ??? So long as the Munger family and the US prosper, who cares ???
Charlie is too predictable
His wisdom was left on the table many decades ago. Elevating curmudgeonliness to a high art does not make his pronouncements any fresher or any truer. He should know when to step aside, when to fade away. Ask him if he thinks most of what he says and does he himself considers the reverse takeaway of a poseur. In the french sense of the word.
Charlie is a phonus balonus, and nothing new has been said by or about him to change that. What a book title: Damn Right! -- when you think about it, it is a ridiculous title for a book.
And to call each other "my partner" is a total joke.
